Transforming Government through Performance and Innovation (Grace Simrall, Louisville Metro Gov.)

Speaker: Grace Simrall, chief of civic innovation for Louisville (Kentucky) Metro Government

Simrall discusses the role of The Office of Performance Improvement and Innovation (OPI2) within Louisville Metro Government, and the initiatives for civic innovation for 2017.

This includes using sensors and other technology to create smarter homes, apartments and cities, leveraging community engagement to solve problems and forming innovative partnerships to improve health. One example is the Air Louisville Project, which uses smart-sensor enabled asthma inhalers to create an air quality heat map of the city.
