Dr. Thomas Starr
Professor of chemical engineering
Dr. Thomas Starr is a professor of chemical engineering at the University of Louisville's J.B. Speed School of Engineering.
Starr's research has included additive manufacturing and 3-D printing technology.He also has explored mechanical performance of metal alloys fabricated using laser sintering and has produced some of the only openly-available data on fatigue performance of these materials.
Starr has perviously served as chair of the University of Louisville's chemical engineering department and associate dean of research and physical facilities. Starr earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Detroit and his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Louisville.
