Olfa Nasraoui


Professor and endowed chair of e-commerce

Dr. Olfa Nasraoui is the endowed chair of e-commerce and the founding director of the Knowledge Discovery and Web Mining Lab at the University of Louisville, where she is also a professor of computer engineering and computer science. 

Nasraoui's research interests include data mining, machine learning, web personalization and profiling, intelligent user modeling, intelligent information retrieval and recommender system.

She has more than 160 refereed publications, including 40 journal papers and book chapters and eight edited volumes. Her research is funded mainly by the National Science Foundation and NASA. She has also received a National Science Foundation CAREER Award for outstanding young scientists and a Best Paper Award for theoretical contributions in computational intelligence at the ANNIE conference.

She also has served as technical mentor and project lead at the Center for Data Science and Public Policy at the University of Chicago, through the Data Science for Social Good Fellowship. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the ACM and ACM SigKDD and she is a senior member of the IEEE and IEEE-WIE.

She earned her undergraduate, master's and Ph.D  from the University of Missouri, Columbia, all in computer engineering and computer science.
