Dr. Adrian Lauf
Assistant professor of computer engineering and computer science
Dr. Adrian Lauf is an assistant professor in the computer engineering and computer science department at the University of Louisville’s J. B. Speed School of Engineering. He's also director of the Aerial Robotics Lab, and chair of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Louisville chapter.
Lauf’s research work seeks to integrate emerging embedded computing, networking and security applications with airborne robotics. This includes using fault-tolerant distributed behaviors and networking for Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) aircraft arrangements to be used in aerial assessments, and using image processing and computer vision to equip smaller micro unmanned air vehicles with the ability to fly autonomously indoors.
Lauf earned his undergraduate, master's and Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University, all in the areas of computer and electrical engineering.
