Dr. Adel S. Elmaghraby
Professor and chair of the Department of Computer Engineering and Computer Science
Dr. Adel S. Elmaghraby is a professor and chair of the Computer Engineering and Computer Science Department at the University of Louisville.
Elmaghraby's research and publications span intelligent systems, neural networks, cyber-security, visualization and simulation. He also has a background in performance evaluation, simulation, information security and forensics, multimedia and image processing and emerging technologies and innovation.
Elmaghraby is also a senior member of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers and has held appointments at Carnegie Mellon’s Software Engineering Institute and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has advised more than 60 master's graduates and 24 doctoral graduates.
Elmaghraby earned his undergraduate degree in computer science from Alexandria University in Egypt. He earned his master's and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, both in electrical engineering.
